The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert across Himachal Pradesh on Monday (06 January). Heavy rainfall can be expected in Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Hamirpur, Shimla, Solan, and Sirmaur.
