As per reports, Hyderabad City Police ramped up security around major religious sites ahead of the Ashada Masam Bonalu festival, scheduled from Thursday (16 July) to Thursday (13 August).

Reviewing the safety protocols from the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC), Hyderabad Police announced zero tolerance toward harassment and issued a stern warning against eve-teasing, reminding potential offenders that 644 individuals were caught red-handed by SHE Teams during last year’s celebrations.

• The authorities stated that personnel from the Task Force, Rapid Action Force, City Armed Reserve, Quick Reaction Teams and the local police would be deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. Public address systems will be installed around the temple premises to guide devotees.
• Special emphasis will be placed on the safety of women devotees through continuous monitoring by SHE Teams. Police will also intensify vigil against chain snatching, mobile theft, pickpocketing and eve-teasing, while ensuring smooth traffic management and the peaceful conduct of Bonalu, Pothuraju performances and Ghatam processions.
• The review covered security arrangements at major temples, including Golconda Fort, Balkampet Yellamma Temple, Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali Temple, Lal Darwaza Mahankali Temple, and other important Bonalu venues.
