As per reports, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) has forecast relatively hot to very hot weather across Jordan through Thursday (23 July).
• Relatively hot conditions are expected across the mountainous highlands and plains, while hot weather is expected to prevail in the desert regions and very hot conditions are forecast for the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
• Northwesterly winds are expected to be moderate, becoming active at times, particularly over desert areas.
• Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 42 degrees Celsius in the northern Jordan Valley, 44 degrees Celsius in the southern Jordan Valley, 43 degrees Celsius around the Dead Sea and Aqaba, while temperatures in Amman are forecast to reach 33 to 35 degrees Celsius.
• Although a slight decrease in temperatures is expected from Friday (24 July) onwards, hot conditions are expected to persist in low-lying areas.
• The affected regions includes Amman Governorate, Irbid, Jerash, Ajloun, Balqa, Madaba, Zarqa, Mafraq, Karak, Tafilah, Ma’an, Aqaba Governorate, the Jordan Valley (North and South Ghor), the Dead Sea and desert regions.
