As per reports, the Colegio Médico Dominicano (CMD) has called for a peaceful national march on Wednesday (18 February) in Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, citing concerns over hospital security and reported incidents of aggressions, threats, and insecurity affecting doctors and healthcare workers across multiple hospitals.
• The march is scheduled to start from the Maternidad Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia and proceed to the Palacio de la Policía Nacional.
• Reports indicate the mobilisation follows CMD’s stated dissatisfaction over lack of response from authorities regarding a case involving pediatrician Cristian Díaz, with CMD alleging police action inside a pediatric emergency setting and seeking clarity on decision-making and accountability.
