As per reports, the Visvesvaraya Musuem, along with an art gallery and planetarium in the nearby Cubbon Park area of Bengaluru received threatening e-mails about bombs planted on the premises in the evening hours of Friday (05 January). In each of the cases, police investigated the premises and confirmed that the e-mails were hoax messages, and no explosives were located.
The mails were sent by an anonymous e-mail address, claiming that the bombs would explode on Saturday (06 January) morning after the venues open for public visits. Specialised teams with sniffer dogs and bomb disposal units combed and secured the sites, while the Bengaluru Police is in the process of identifying the sender of the mail.
