As per reports, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) of El Salvador issued a warning for heavy rainfall affecting most parts of the country on Friday (28 June).
The current weather disturbance is linked to the proximity of a wave to Central America and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which is bringing increased moisture and humidity to the region.
• Rainfall began late Thursday (27 June) afternoon, starting in the northern areas accompanied by strong lightning activity. This weather pattern is expected to continue on Friday (28 June), with peak precipitation expected in the evening, affecting the central strip and coastal zones of El Salvador.
