As per reports, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has issued a public warning about an approaching heat wave expected to affect Istanbul from Wednesday (25 June) till Friday (27 June).
• The high temperatures are the result of a hot air mass originating from the Basra region and are forecast to cause daytime temperatures in Istanbul to rise between 34 degree Celsius and 37 degree Celsius.
• The most affected period of the day is expected to be between 1100 hours (local time) and 1600 hours (local time).
• Forest fire risk is significantly elevated due to the combination of high temperatures, low relative humidity, and strong northern winds.
