As per reports, the Philippine Government is scheduled to host the 10th session of the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR) in partnership with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). It will be held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City from Monday to Friday (14-18 October), and is expected to draw more than 4,000 participants from 69 countries.
On account of this, work in government offices and classes at all levels in Manila and Pasay cities within the Metro Manila region will remain suspended on Monday and Tuesday (14-15 October), while authorities have stated that the private companies can operate as per their discretion. The suspension will not apply to essential services. Traffic and logistical arrangements for the event are likely to be implemented in subsequent days.
