As per reports, fuel tanker drivers at Edinburgh Airport, represented by the Unite Union, have announced a strike scheduled to commence at 0500 hours (local time) on Wednesday (18 December) and continue until 06 January 2025.

• The industrial action, arising from a dispute over pay with North Air, poses a significant risk of disruptions to domestic and international flights during the peak holiday season. The union attributes the strike to North Air’s refusal to address worker concerns, warning that it could result in grounded flights during Christmas and New Year.
• Edinburgh Airport management is in coordination with airlines to implement contingency measures aimed at minimizing disruptions to passengers. Despite these efforts, the extended duration of the strike during a critical travel period may cause considerable inconvenience to travellers.
