As per reports, French farmers, led by the Fédération Nationale des Syndicats d’Exploitants Agricoles (FNSEA) and Young Farmers union, will mobilize nationwide to protest the proposed EU-Mercosur free trade agreement on Monday (18 November).
• The mobilization is due to the concerns of the farmers that increased Latin American imports, particularly of beef, sugar, and poultry, will negatively impact local agriculture, which faces strict European standards.
• The planned protests intend to amplify the concerns at the upcoming G20 summit in Brazil, a move aimed at garnering support from across European nations.
