As per reports, a forest fire has broken on the Gangera hills in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur District on Sunday (02 June) afternoon. The fire spread quickly through the adjoining timber forests, necessitating nearby villagers to evacuate. Authorities are on site and dousing operations are underway.

Block-level authorities have requested assistance from the Indian Airforce, urging them to deploy helicopters to douse the blaze.
