As per reports, the state of São Paulo experienced intense rainfall from the evening of Saturday (09 March), leading to widespread flooding in at least six municipalities.
• In the municipality of Brotas, reports indicated structural damage to two bridges and infrastructure issues, encompassing the collapse of a retaining wall and the undersoiling of a road stretch.
• Salesópolis witnessed the overflow of rivers and creeks, such as the Paraitinga River, the Córrego das Antas, and the Córrego da Fartura. The flood reached 32 houses and left 20 flooding points in the city. The most affected neighborhoods were Totozinho Cardoso, Centro, São Vicente, Jardim Nídia, Sandoval, and Fartura.
• In Potirendaba, landslides prompted the interdiction of two residences, while an overflowing municipal dam led to flooding in Alta Floresta neighborhood. The waters reached 14 homes.
• Campinas and Mogi das Cruzes also faced flooding issues, with submerged vehicles, collapsed walls, and displaced residents.
• Guararema reported intense rainfall leading to flooding points in the neighborhoods of Nogueira and Dona Anisia, requiring intervention by the Fire Department with boats in affected areas.
