As per reports, the Nations Weather Service (NWS) issued flood watch alerts for Central, West Central, Northwest Texas, and Western Oklahoma, valid until Friday (08 November).
Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms will move across the region through the evening hours of Thursday (07 November), with rain expected to persist through Friday (08 November) afternoon. Rainfall totals may reach one to three inches, with locally higher amounts of up to four inches possible in some areas.
• In West Central Texas regions affected are Fisher, Nolan, Sterling, Coke, Runnels, Irion, Tom Green, Haskell, Throckmorton, Jones, Shackelford, Taylor, and Callahan Counties. Major cities include Abilene, San Angelo, and Sweetwater.
• In Northwest Texas and Texas Panhandle, the regions under the flood watch are Briscoe, Hall, Childress, Hale, Floyd, Motley, Cottle, Lubbock, Crosby, Dickens, King, Lynn, Garza, Kent, and Stonewall Counties. Major cities include Lubbock and Childress.
• In Western Texas, Borden, Scurry, Howard, Mitchell, Glasscock, and Reagan Counties are affected.
• In Oklahoma the regions under the watch are Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Comanche, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Greer, Harmon, Jackson, Kiowa, Major, Roger Mills, Tillman, Washita, and Woodward Counties, as well as northern Texas counties Baylor, Foard, Hardeman, Knox, and Wilbarger.
