FlixBus and Rede Expressos suspends services in Aveiro and Porto from Monday (16 September)

As per reports, FlixBus has suspended all trips in the Aveiro and Porto regions due to ongoing fires from Monday (16 September). The company has canceled 92 trips and affected 37 others.

• Several buses were stranded on the road due to the fires, though no serious incidents were reported. Buses in the most affected areas were either directed to safe locations or returned to the Aveiro Terminal.
• Affected passengers were advised to either rebook trips or request a refund. FlixBus is making partial cancellations to minimise disruptions, such as maintaining routes to destinations like Lisbon and the Algarve where possible.
• Rede Expressos has also suspended bus services between Lisbon and Porto, as well as Lisbon and Bragança, due to the fires in central and northern Portugal.
• The fires have caused road closures on several major routes, including the A1, A25, A29, IC2, EN238, EN109, and EN16, impacting travel and transportation in the affected areas.
