As per reports, Wellington Airport experienced significant delays, with around 30 domestic jet services to and from the airport being canceled due to strong winds on Sunday (31 December). While smaller aircraft could still land, larger ATR aircraft and jets were predominantly affected. Despite forecasts predicting a reduction in winds during the afternoon, strong winds persisted.
