As per reports, five people have been killed after an unidentified group in a vehicle fired upon another group in a jeep near the Beliatta Exit of the Southern Expressway on Monday (22 January). Among the victims is the leader of the Apey Janabala Pakshaya (Our People’s Party), Saman Perera.

As per initial reports, police suspect the involvement of a criminal Kosgoda Sujee’s gang in the shooting.
