As per reports, a fire incident occurred at the University of Tuscia, Viterbo, located about 80 km north of Rome, on Wednesday (04 June) at around 1000 hours local time.
• All students, professors and administrative staff were evacuated on time and there were no initial reports of injuries.
• The fire is reported to have started on the roof where renovation work was underway, with thick black smoke visible for several kilometres away.
• Police cordoned off the area, evacuating nearby residents, with authorities advising those living within a one-kilometre radius to keep their windows closed.
