As per reports, at approximately 0835 hours (local time) on Sunday (02 February), United Airlines Flight 1382, scheduled to depart from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, had to abort its takeoff due to a reported engine issue.

• The aircraft, an Airbus A319, was bound for LaGuardia Airport in New York. During the attempted takeoff, a fire was reported on the wing of the plane.
• Flight attendants instructed passengers to remain seated, while a passenger was heard alerting that the aircraft was on fire. Passengers were subsequently evacuated using emergency slides and stairs, with no injuries reported. The Houston Fire Department confirmed that no fire-extinguishing efforts were required.
• The evacuation resulted in a delay of United Airlines Flight 1382, as a different aircraft was scheduled to take passengers to New York at 1230 hours (local time) on Sunday (02 February).
