As per reports, farmers set off rockets and firecrackers in front of the Prime Minister’s office in Warsaw located on Al. Ujazdowskie, during a large protest involving thousands of farmers since the morning hours of Wednesday (06 March).

• Some flares were thrown at the police and towards the Prime Minister’s office, as the protesters demanded Prime Minister Donald Tusk to come out for talks. Some protesters also burned tires despite police warnings banning the use of pyrotechnics.
• The farmers staged a protest march towards the Sejm (parliament) located on Wiejska 4/6/8, as they hoped for a discussion with a government representative, particularly with the Minister of Agriculture, Czeslaw Siekierski.
• Miners, foresters, hunters and other supporters also joined the farmers in their protests.
• Protesting Polish farmers on tractors have blocked highways leading into Warsaw as part of their protest action.
• The farmers are demanding a withdrawal from the EU’s Green Deal, which according to them will significantly increase production costs. The farmers are also demanding a closure of the Polish-Ukrainian border to prevent the entry of cheap Ukrainian food imports.
