As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an extreme heat warning for multiple regions in Arizona, in effect until 2000 hours (local time) on Sunday (24 August).

• The affected areas include Parker Valley, Kofa, Yuma, Central La Paz, Southeast Yuma County, and the Gila River Valley in southwest Arizona, as well as Aguila Valley, Tonopah Desert, Gila Bend, Cave Creek/New River, New River Mesa, Rio Verde/Salt River, Fountain Hills/East Mesa, Superior, Northwest and West Pinal County, Apache Junction/Gold Canyon, and the Sonoran Desert National Monument in south-central Arizona.
• Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach between 104 degrees Fahrenheit and 113 degrees Fahrenheit, creating a major heat risk that significantly elevates the potential for heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and life-threatening heat stroke.
