As per reports, an explosion occurred at the Toyota Material Handling plant in Borgo Panigale, Bologna at approximately 1800 hours (local time) on Wednesday (23 October).

• The blast resulted in the death of one employee and eight employees reportedly being injured. Two of the injured are in serious condition and were transported to Maggiore Hospital, while others with less serious injuries were taken to San Giovanni in Persiceto Hospital.
• The explosion caused significant structural damage, including the collapse of a pillar.
• Authorities, including the Bologna Fire Department and Carabinieri, are reported to be investigating the cause of the blast.
