As per reports, a fuel rationing scheme based on licence plate numbers is scheduled to be effective from Friday (10 July) due to an ongoing regional fuel shortage.
• Reports indicate vehicles with licence plates beginning with an even digit (0, 2, 4, 6, or 8) are scheduled to refuel on even calendar dates, while vehicles with licence plates beginning with an odd digit (1, 3, 5, 7, or 9) are scheduled to refuel on odd calendar dates.
• Reports indicate the scheme excludes vehicles used by operational, emergency, and rescue services.
• Reports indicate Surgutneftegaz petrol stations in Pskov are scheduled to restrict AI-92 grade fuel and diesel sales from 1400 hours local time (1100 hours UTC) to 2359 hours local time (2059 hours UTC).
• Reports indicate similar even and odd number based fuel rationing measures have been introduced in more than twenty Russian regions since late May, including Crimea, and the Penza, Vologda, Kursk, Belgorod, Bryansk, and Tyumen regions.
