The Japan Meteorological Agency reported a 4.7 magnitude earthquake, of 50 kilometres epicentre depth, off the southeast Coast of the Nemuro Peninsula at 1003 hours local time on Thursday (25 January). Seismic activity was reported throughout Hokkaido Prefecture including a level three seismic intensity in Nemuro city. No injuries reported and no tsunami warning has been issued.
