The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reported a 3.6 magnitude earthquake off the Coast of Miyagi Prefecture on Tuesday (08 September) at around 1619 hours (local time). The recorded depth of the earthquake was 50 kilometres.
Seismic Intensity one was reported in Miyagi Prefecture (Kesennuma City) and Iwate Prefecture (Ofunato City, Ichinoseki City). No damage to property or loss of life has been reported so far.
