As per reports, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) is set to organise a human chain protest in Kochi and outside the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday (20 January). Thousands of DYFI activists from Kasargod, and other parts of the state have assembled for the same.
Accordingly, the Kochi Police have issued the following traffic restrictions in the city for the human chain protest, which will commence at 1700 hours:
• Restrictions will be in place from Aroor to Edappally along National Highway (NH) 66 and from Edappally to Kalamassery-Muttom along NH-544 between 1630-1730 hours.
• The police have advised motorists to use alternate roads like Container Road and Seaport-Airport Road.
• In Thiruvananthapuram, a similar human chain protest is scheduled to take place in front of the Raj Bhavan at 1600 hours. Police arrangements will be in place for the same, although no route restrictions have been implemented for the protest.
