The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday (01 September).
• Forecast: An orange alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and squalls has been issued for Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi, Ramban, Jammu, Udhampur, Samba and Kathua.
• Forecast: A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and squalls has been issued for Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Anantnag, Doda and Kishtwar.
• Nowcast: No colour-coded warning has been issued. The update is valid until 0600 hours (local time) on Tuesday (01 September).
