The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for the BRICS Summit in Delhi from Friday (11 September) till Sunday (13 September).
Following are the detailed traffic arrangement announced:
• Controlled roads include Mathura Road (Subramaniam Bharti Marg T-Point to Lodhi Road Flyover), Tees January Marg, Janpath, Prithviraj Road, Firoze Shah Road, Ashoka Road, Tughlak Road, Neela Gumbad, Panchsheel Marg, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Africa Avenue (Bhikaji Cama Place to Yashwant Place), C-Hexagon, Brig. Hoshiyar Singh Marg, Shanti Path, Sher Shah Suri Marg, San Martin Marg, Tilak Marg, Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Akbar Road, Sardar Patel Marg, APJ Abdul Kalam Road, Kautilya Marg, Bhagwan Das Road, Kemal Ataturk Marg, Kartavya Path, Purana Qila Road, Safdarjung Road and Nyaya Marg.
• For New Delhi Railway Station, commuters may use alternative routes via ISBT Kashmiri Gate–Boulevard Road–Rani Jhansi Marg–DGB Road–Panchkuian Road–Outer Circle, Connaught Place; Ashram Chowk–Ring Road–Raj Ghat–JLN Marg; or Vande Mataram Marg–Dr Ambedkar Marg–Panchkuian Road–Outer Circle, Connaught Place.
• For Old Delhi Railway Station, alternative approaches include ISBT Kashmiri Gate–Ring Road–Hanuman Mandir–S.P. Mukherjee Marg; Ashram Chowk–Ring Road–Raj Ghat–Ring Road–Hanuman Mandir–S.P. Mukherjee Marg; or Vande Mataram Marg–Dr Ambedkar Marg–Rani Jhansi Marg–Rani Jhansi Flyover–Boulevard Road–Lothian Marg.
• For Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, commuters may use AIIMS–Ring Road–Ashram Chowk–Mathura Road or ISBT Kashmiri Gate–Ring Road–Raj Ghat–Ring Road–Ashram Chowk–Mathura Road.
• Metro services are strongly recommended for airport-bound passengers to minimise potential delays associated with traffic restrictions and VIP movements.
• From Gurugram, passengers travelling towards the airport may use NH-48–Rao Gajraj Singh Marg–Old Delhi-Gurugram Road–UER-II–Service Road–T3 Terminal Road, while T1-bound traffic may approach via NH-48–Mahipalpur Flyover–T1 Road or via Ullanbaatar Marg.
• From Dwarka, traffic to the airport terminals may use Sector-22 Dwarka Road–UER-II via Sector-23.
• From New Delhi and South Delhi, airport-bound traffic towards airport may use Ring Road–AIIMS Chowk–Moti Bagh Chowk–RTR Marg and onward routes towards the respective terminals.
• From West Delhi, traffic may use Punjabi Bagh Chowk–Ring Road–Raja Garden Chowk–Najafgarh Road–Pankha Road–Dabri–Dwarka Road–Road No. 224–Sector-22 Dwarka Road–UER-II–NH-48 Service Road–T3 Terminal Road.
• From North and East Delhi, commuters may use ISBT Kashmiri Gate–Rani Jhansi Flyover–Rohtak Road–Punjabi Bagh Chowk–Raja Garden Chowk–Najafgarh Road–Pankha Road–Dabri/Dwarka Road–Road No. 224–Sector-22 Dwarka Road–UER-II–NH-48 Service Road–T3 Terminal Road.
• Dr. Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk (W-Point): Movement towards Mathura Road and Tilak Marg is prohibited. Vehicles traveling to East and South Delhi should divert via BSZ Marg and IP Marg; those heading to Central, North, and West Delhi should use BSZ Marg and Delhi Gate; and traffic bound for New Delhi/Connaught Place should take Sikandara Road.
• Ram Charan Aggarwal Chowk (A-Point): Commercial vehicles are restricted from moving beyond A-Point towards W-Point. Traffic for East/South Delhi should use IP Marg; New Delhi/Connaught Place bound traffic should divert via DDU Marg; and Central/North/West Delhi traffic should route through BSZ Marg to Delhi Gate.
• Mir Dard Chowk: Direct travel towards Maharaja Ranjit Singh Marg is not permitted. Diversions lead through Mir Dard Marg and Abdul Gaffar Marg, or via Mir Dard Marg and Kotla Marg towards BSZ Marg and DDU Marg.
• Kasturba Gandhi Marg / Outer Circle CP: Movement towards C-Hexagon is blocked. Commuters must use the Outer Circle of Connaught Place and other arterial routes (excluding Janpath).
• Janpath / Connaught Place: Traffic moving towards C-Hexagon from the Outer Circle is restricted. Permitted alternate roads include Kali Bari Marg, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Marg, Panchkuian Road, Minto Road, and Barakhamba Road.
• Patel Chowk: Movement on Sansad Marg towards Windsor Place and RBI is not allowed. Traffic is diverted towards Ashoka Road and GPO, or towards Connaught Place via Sansad Marg.
• Roundabout RML Hospital: Vehicles are prohibited from moving towards Mother Teresa Crescent and Talkatora Road. Alternate movement is directed via Sheikh Mujibur Rehman Marg or Baba Kharak Singh Marg.
• Vande Matram Marg / Simon Bolivar Marg: Entry onto Simon Bolivar Marg is restricted. Commuters should remain on Vande Matram Marg heading towards either Dhaula Kuan or Karol Bagh.
• Dhaula Kuan Flyover: Movement along Sardar Patel Marg is regulated and restricted. Alternate routes include Ring Road, Vande Mataram Marg, and the NH-48 / Gurgaon Road corridor.
• Moti Bagh Flyover: Traffic is not permitted to turn towards Shanti Path. Diversions route vehicles via Ring Road or Rao Tula Ram (RTR) Marg.
• Roundabout Brig. Hoshiyar Singh Marg: Movement towards Africa Avenue and Yashwant Place is restricted. Traffic should proceed via Brig. Hoshiyar Singh Marg or switch to Africa Avenue via the Bhikaji Cama Flyover.
• Madarsa T-Point: Direct traffic towards Aurobindo Marg is diverted. Alternate movement goes via Lodhi Road, or onto Aurobindo Marg via the Safdarjung Flyover.
• Lodhi Road / Amrita Shergil Marg: Access to Amrita Shergil Marg is prohibited. All traffic is diverted straight along Lodhi Road.
• Lodhi Road / Max Mueller Marg: Movement turning onto Max Mueller Marg is restricted. Commuters must continue straight along Lodhi Road.
• Lodhi Road / Maharishi Raman Marg: Turning onto Maharishi Raman Marg is not permitted. Traffic should continue on Lodhi Road or use Bhishm Pitamah Marg for South Delhi.
• Lodhi Road / Arch Bishop Macarius Marg: Entry onto Archbishop Macarius Marg is blocked. Vehicles are diverted straight along Lodhi Road.
• Under Lodhi Flyover: Mathura Road access towards Bharat Mandapam is restricted. Alternate routes include Lodhi Road, Neela Gumbad, or the Barapullah Flyover.
• Neela Gumbad: Movement towards the Oberoi Flyover and Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg is prohibited. Commuters should divert via Mathura Road to Ashram Chowk or take Lodhi Road.
• Under Oberoi Flyover: Mathura Road traffic is restricted from proceeding north. Diversions lead to the Lodhi Flyover via the U-turn underpass opposite DPS Mathura Road (only local access for Oberoi Hotel and Golf Links is permitted).
• U-Turn Opposite DPS, Mathura Road: Direct passage towards Bharat Mandapam is blocked. Vehicles must take the U-turn underpass leading back towards Lodhi Flyover.
• Ring Road / Bhairon Road: Turning onto Bhairon Marg is restricted. Traffic must stay on Ring Road, moving either towards Sarai Kale Khan or Rajghat.
• Mandi House: Movement onto Feroz Shah Road, Bhagwan Das Road, and Copernicus Marg is restricted. Diversions guide commuters via Barakhamba Road or Sikandra Marg.
• Emergency and medical vehicles are likely to be provided with obstruction-free passage, while essential services and utility vehicles are expected to retain access where required.
• Motorists have been urged to park only at authorised locations, as roadside parking within 200 metres of controlled roads is likely to be prohibited. Commuters are advised to follow directions issued by traffic personnel and comply with applicable traffic regulations.
