As per reports, São Paulo is expected to experience very dry weather, with relative humidity as low as 13.5 percent as of Tuesday (20 August). The Civil Defense has issued a state of alert due to the heat wave and low humidity, which has persisted for three days. Temperatures as high as 30 degrees Celsius are expected to persist at least through Friday (23 August).
The heat and dry weather have also led to an emergency fire risk alert for 16 regions, including São Paulo city and its Metropolitan Region. Residents are advised to avoid actions that could spark fires and to follow prevention guidelines.
