As per reports, a regional healthcare strike has been scheduled in the Valencian Community from 27 April to 30 April, organized by the Spanish Confederation of Medical Unions (Confederación Estatal de Sindicatos Médicos, CESM).

• The strike has been called in response to concerns over unmet commitments by the Valencian Regional Government (Generalitat Valenciana) and the Valencian Health Ministry during the current legislative term. Medical professionals have raised concerns regarding deteriorating working conditions under the management of regional health authorities, while also expressing opposition to national-level policy changes linked to the Framework Statute.
• CESM has outlined a list of 19 demands submitted to health authorities, aimed at improving both working conditions and patient care. Key demands include the implementation of a 35-hour workweek, limits on patient appointment loads to reduce excessive workloads, mandatory replacement of absent medical staff, the elimination of 24-hour on-call shifts, and the expansion of urgent care services. The union has described the strike as a last resort following prolonged negotiations, formal requests, and unresolved grievances.
