As per reports, on 10 February, regional mobilizations are scheduled to take place at 1100 hours (local time), followed by a larger rally in front of the Ministry of Health on 13 February at 1200 hours (local time).
• These demonstrations are organized by various medical organizations, including the Spanish Confederation of Medical Unions (CESM) and other regional medical associations, in opposition to the draft reform of the framework statute for health personnel proposed by the Ministry of Health.
• Currently, twelve organizations support the demonstrations, including associations from Andalusia, the Basque Country, Navarre, Catalonia, Madrid, the Canary Islands, Galicia, and others.
• The mobilizations aim to demand specific regulations for doctors and physicians to ensure high-quality healthcare within Spain’s National Health System, as well as improved working conditions for medical professionals.
• The organizing groups have emphasized the historic and fair nature of their claims, urging the Ministry of Health to engage with and address these issues. These actions represent a significant moment in shaping the future of the medical profession in Spain.
