Disruptions in downtown Kyiv reported on Thursday (09 January) due to pipe burst

As per reports, a hot water pipe burst at the intersection of Zhylianska and Symona Petliura streets near Kyiv’s Central Station around 2100 hours (local time) on Thursday (09 January).

• The rupture led to widespread disruption, with water flooding the area, splitting the ground, and scattering pieces of asphalt across the street.
• Several cars were flooded, and traffic in the area was temporarily blocked.
• Public transportation was affected with delays reported for trolleybuses 12 and 14.
• The Kyiv City State Administration mobilized emergency response teams from Kyivteploenergo, involving 11 units of equipment and over 30 specialists to repair the heating network damage.
