As per reports, the families of hostages have urged residents to take part in demonstrations on Monday (17 February), which marks the 500th day of captivity for those held in Gaza, and to demand that the Israeli government advance the cease-fire and hostage release deal.
• The Hostage and Missing Families Forum declared a fast on Monday (17 February) in solidarity with the hostages, to last for 500 minutes starting at 1140 hours and concluding at 2000 hours local time. A rally is also scheduled at the Tel Aviv Hostage Square at 2000 hours local time.
• The families are scheduled to deliver statements at 0730 hours local time and afterward march to the Knesset in Jerusalem. At 1400 hours local time another demonstration has been scheduled outside the Knesset.
• The Mishmeret 101 protest movement is also scheduled to hold protests in Jerusalem marking ‘500 days of abandonment, neglect, uprooting, slaughter and lack of compassion,’ with a central rally at 1800 hours local time at the Prime Minister’s residence.
• The Women’s Protest movement is calling on its members to block traffic at the intersection of major roads Rokach and Namir, in northern Tel Aviv, at 0800 hours local time.
• Students throughout the country will also hold solidarity rallies at the outset of the school day, and some businesses will reduce their hours in protest.
