As per reports, teachers associated with the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) announced a demonstration in Mexico City on Thursday (16 May).

• At 1900 hours local time, the teachers will carry out a teacher-pedagogical political barricade in the capital’s Zócalo, so there will also be mobilizations in the center of CDMX.
• A CNTE commission meeting with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was scheduled at 1000 hours local time on Thursday (16 May), headed by the general secretaries of the CNTE in Oaxaca, Chiapas, Guerrero, Michoacán and CDMX. Depending on the results of the meeting, the teachers will decide whether to maintain the sit-in in front of the National Palace.
