The Delhi airport issued a passenger advisory on Sunday (25 May) at 1900 hours, stating that due to inclement weather conditions and changing wind patterns, there might be an impact on flight operations. On-ground teams are working diligently with all stakeholders to ensure a seamless and efficient passenger experience. Passengers have been requested to connect with their respective airlines for updated flight information.
• Meanwhile, severe winds over 80 kmph was reported in Delhi during the intervening night of Saturday (24 May) and Sunday (25 May). Severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall was reported as well which led to the delaying of over 400 flights and several diversions.
• Around 49 flights, including 17 international flights were diverted during the period.
• Roads in Delhi leading to the airport were waterlogged during the severe weather. Airlines had directed passengers to account for the same and make travel plans accordingly.
