The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued the following Forecast and Nowcast warnings for Tamil Nadu on Sunday (08 November).
• Forecast: A yellow alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and squalls has been issued across all districts of Tamil Nadu.
• Nowcast: As per the IMD, a yellow alert for light rainfall measuring less than five millimetres per hour, moderate rainfall ranging between five and 15 millimetres per hour and light thunderstorms with maximum surface wind speeds below 40 kilometres per hour has been issued for Chengalpattu, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Dindigul, Madurai, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Nilgiris, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga, Tenkasi, Thanjavur, Theni, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Tiruppur, Tiruvallur, Tiruvarur, Viluppuram and Virudhunagar. The alert is valid until 0400 hours (local time) on Sunday (08 November).
