As per reports, various bodies affiliated with the Congress Party staged protests on Monday (06 January) against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Delhi member of legislative assembly (MLA) Ramesh Bidhuri over his alleged remarks on Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi. Following are the details:
• Indian Youth Congress (IYC) workers staged a rally outside the residence of Bidhuri in Central Delhi, and sprayed black paint on the name plate. They also held placards and sloganeered demanding his resignation.
• The Congress-affiliated student union, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) staged a protest at the Delhi University Faculty of Arts, in which several hundred students reportedly participated.
