As per reports, a full freeway closure is underway on Interstate 43, between West Capitol Drive and West Keefe Avenue on Thursday (20 June) evening to accommodate a Milwaukee Police investigation of a shooting incident.
Reports indicate that the incident began when officers began pursuing suspects in an armed carjacking in downtown Milwaukee and ultimately ended on I-43, where the shooting took place. Further reports suggest that one person was killed and at least two others injured in the gunfire.
