As per reports, starting Friday (01 March), several changes will take effect for those learning to drive in Switzerland:

• Individuals seeking a new category of road vehicle license will not need an additional eye test.
• The age for mandatory traffic medical exams will rise from 65 to 75 years. Additionally, the driving tests for Category A (motorbikes over 48 brake horsepower) and Category B (motor vehicles weighing less than 3.5 tons) will extend from 30 to 45 minutes.
• Additionally, the old blue paper driving licenses will no longer be valid after 31 October and can be exchanged for official plastic driving license IDs at local road traffic offices.
