As per reports, the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) has called for a new mobilisation in Buenos Aires on Wednesday (30 April), aligning with Labour Day demonstrations and in opposition to the economic and social policies of President Javier Milei.
• The protest is framed as a response to the perceived negative impact of current government policies on retirees and workers, particularly regarding income and labor conditions.
• The mobilisation is scheduled to begin at 1400 hours (local time), starting at the intersection of Independencia and 9 de Julio Avenues, and will conclude at the Labor Monument on Paseo Colón Avenue, Buenos Aires.
• This will follow the third general strike carried out under President Milei’s administration by Argentina’s principal workers’ union.
• The union leadership also extended an invitation to Peronist governors to attend a meeting with CGT’s Board of Directors on the same day, suggesting broader political alignment.
