According to reports on Saturday (07 September), anyone who attended the Winter Pride in Queenstown, held in the last week of August 2024, is being warned to watch out for symptoms of Mpox as Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora suspects the participation of close Mpox contacts in the event.
Anyone with fever-like symptoms or noticing the appearance of rash or other skin changes known as lesions (spots, bumps, blisters or sores) has been asked to consult doctors and refrain from close physical contact.
