As per reports, on Saturday (12 September), the southwest pier of Wellington International Airport has been briefly evacuated after burnt cooking triggered a smoke alarm.
• Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) responded to the automated alarm just before 1420 hours (local time) with two crews from Kilbirnie and Newtown. The source was identified as burnt cooking, and crews cleared the scene by 1500 hours (local time).
