As per reports, the bridge in the Stuwweg in Maastricht is at a risk of collapsing after being badly damaged by a loose houseboat on Thursday (04 January) morning.
• One of the pillars of the bridge has been dislocated and a small bend was reported in the middle of the bridge.
• According to reports, the houseboat became loose due to strong currents after a spillway dam broke on 03 January. The boat was dragged over the dam by the water currents before coming to a halt against the bridge further away.
• Evacuations have been ordered in Stuwweg in anticipation of collapse of the bridge.
