As per reports, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Yadav was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday (07 March). The shooting incident occurred near Budhapur village of Jaunpur district, which falls under the Sikarara police station area.

Superintendent of Police (City) Brijesh Kumar said that Yadav, a resident of Budhapur, was travelling in his car when some motorcycle riders signalled to stop his car on the pretext of giving a ‘card’ and shot at him. The incident occurred at around 1000 hours.
