As per reports, Avianca Airlines has announced the introduction of a new direct flight route between San José (SJO), Costa Rica, and San Juan (SJU), Puerto Rico, set to begin on 31 March 2025.

• After a 20-year gap, direct flights will be reinstated between the two cities. The announcement was made by Puerto Rico’s Governor, Jenniffer González Colón, in collaboration with Avianca executives.
• The flights will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, arriving at Luis Muñoz Marín Airport at 1240 hours (local time) and departing from Juan Santamaría International Airport at 1410 hours (local time).
