As per reports, Météo-France has placed 10 departments in mainland France under a yellow alert due to the risk of avalanches on Monday (03 February).
• The departments affected include Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Ariège, Haute-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pyrénées-Orientales, Savoie, and Haute-Savoie. Additionally, this alert extends to the territory of Andorra. The yellow alert status will remain in effect throughout the entire day on Monday (03 February).
• This elevated risk results from a week of continuous snowfall across the Alpine and Pyrenean massifs, caused by the succession of multiple weather depressions over the region.
