As per reports, incidents of Anti-Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA)-2019 were reported in parts of Assam on Tuesday (12 March) evening.

• The All Assam Students Union (AASU) commenced a torch rally from Swahid Nyas of Dibrugarh but were stopped by Dibrugarh Police.
• The Barpeta district unit of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) staged a protest from Barpeta Rajiv Bhawan to the District Commissioner’s office. Clashes between leading Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and security personnel were reported.
• AASU members staged a torch rally in Guwahati.
• Members of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) Udalgiri Unit, Satra Mukti Sangram Samiti(SMSS) Tangla unit and Bir Lachit Sena Tangla unit demonstrated by burning tyres in Tangla town.
• Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that those opposing CAA must go to the court instead of staging protests.
• AJYCP members burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Lakhimpur.
• Lawyers in Jorhat district staged a protest against CAA.
