As per reports, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Jammu on Tuesday (09 January) to take stock of the security situation following the Poonch terror attack. However, officials have stated that his visit is dependent on weather conditions and may be postponed in the event of inclement weather.

• As per the tentative schedule, he will chair a high-level security review meeting in Jammu immediately after his arrival.
• Following this, he may also visit Rajouri and Poonch to oversee security arrangements.
• Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda is also scheduled to visit Jammu on Sunday (07 January) to devise the Lok Sabha polls strategy with party leaders and functionaries.
