As per reports, the Metro Vancouver Regional District (MVRD) issued an air quality advisory for eastern Metro Vancouver, Central Fraser Valley, and Eastern Fraser Valley on Sunday (24 August) due to elevated levels of ground-level ozone (smog) and fine particulate matter.
• The advisory is attributed to a combination of hot, sunny weather, local emissions, and smoke from the Sailor Bar wildfire burning in the Fraser Canyon.
• The warnings are expected to remain in effect until at least Monday (25 August) or until air quality improves. Smoke concentrations may vary across the region.
