As per reports, the German Weather Service (DWD) has issued weather warnings across the entire state of Hesse, including central cities such as Kassel, southern areas like Darmstadt and Offenbach, and eastern regions including Fulda on Wednesday (28 May). Adverse weather conditions are expected to affect Hesse until Sunday (01 June).
• As of Wednesday (28 May), warnings for strong wind gusts remain active until late evening. Central, southern, and eastern Hesse are also expected to receive persistent rainfall, with a heightened risk of localized flooding in road sections and underpasses.
• From Thursday night (29 May), particularly in southern Hesse, including Offenbach. Meteorological assessments indicate that night frost is expected to recede, and temperatures are expected to increase due to a shift in air masses.
• Temperatures on Wednesday (28 May) may peak between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius, with rainfall expected to diminish into Thursday (29 May). Intermittent rainfall and thunderstorms may occur on Thursday (29 May), particularly in areas such as Wiesbaden and Hanau. The weather on Ascension Day (May 29) is expected to remain largely overcast with potential isolated rainfall in the afternoon.
• By Friday (May 30), the weather is expected to improve significantly in the Rhine-Main region and the southwest, including cities such as Mainz and Darmstadt. Temperatures may rise to between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius. In the northern and eastern areas, including Kassel and Gießen, intermittent rainfall may occur on Friday (30 May).
• On Sunday (01 June), heavy rainfall is forecast with thunderstorms, with high humidity, elevated temperatures across Hesse.
