As per reports, the Dominican Meteorological Institute (Indomet) has issued a weather alert for Monday (04 August) and Tuesday (05 August) due to a combination of meteorological phenomena expected to affect parts of the Dominican Republic. A pattern of rainfall and a Saharan dust mass incursion may lead to variable and potentially hazardous weather conditions.

• On Monday (04 August), easterly/southeasterly winds may lead to moisture to the eastern and southern provinces, including La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, Peravia, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo, and Barahona, which may cause morning rainfall.
• In the afternoon on Monday (04 August), a mid-tropospheric trough located northeast of the country may interact with local factors to produce cloud cover, rainfall, isolated thunderstorms, and gusty winds in Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Samaná, Puerto Plata, Valverde, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, San Juan, Elías Piña, and Monte Cristi. These conditions are expected to subside gradually by night.
• A Saharan dust mass is anticipated to reach the country by evening on Monday (04 August), leading to weak to moderate concentrations, cloudy skies, and higher wind chill effects.
• On Tuesday (05 August), the Saharan dust may persist. A weak trough at different tropospheric levels, along with continued moisture transport, may result in localized rainfall and thunderstorms in Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, Monseñor Nouel, San Juan, Santiago Rodríguez, Puerto Plata, Dajabón, and Monte Cristi.
